As you know, we have historical figures that pop in from time to time to dole out advice to our kids. Today's historical figure is Abraham Lincoln. We have a few letters that were pulled from recent Q&A sections of women's magazines. Let's bring Abe out here and see if he can't enlighten us all.

Teresa, 18:
“I think my boyfriend might be cheating on me. How can I be sure?”
Lincoln's Response:
“When I was a young man - well before I wrote the emancipation proclamation - a contemporary once told me that patience and trust are the toughest of virtues to maintain, especially in matters of the heart. I would ask you to trust your instincts, but temper them with a broader world perspective, as I tried to do with the civil war.”

(from Dec 30 issue of Glamour)
Margot, 20: “I hooked up with two guys in one night. Am I a slut?”
Lincoln's Response:
“Yes.”
